Amsterdam, Netherlands — My Favorite Cafes

The best cafes in Amsterdam are hidden treasures, tucked away in quiet corners and often overlooked by tourists. Whether it's the sheer quality of their specialty coffes, or a cozy cafe to get lost in a book, these are my favorite cafes in Amsterdam.

1. Coffee District Hendrik Jacobzstraat

In my opinion, the best cafe in Amsterdam. The ambience is cozy and minimalist, and conducive for reading or working. They have warm and friendly staff, amazing coffee, and the best chai latte I've had around. Their cinnamon rolls are a great snack.

2. VENU

A co-working space that's also a cafe. Definitely a very aesthetically-pleasing place. My favorite part is their experimental seasonal coffee drinks.

3. YUSU Coffee

A super cozy and stylish cafe in the east, which feels like a warm cozy shared living room. The staff are also super friendly. My favorite items are the Chai Latte and the seasonally-changing freshly baked croissants.

4. Edible Treasures

A real hidden spot (unless you live in the neighborhood!), it's one of my favorite places to bring visitors to. It's a curated shop and cafe combined. Started by creative professionals, their creative flair shows in the interior design and choice of items.

5. Little Collins

Located in the hip area of De Pijp, and owned by Australians, I like Little Collins for the slice of Australia it brings to Amsterdam. Their coffee tastes just like the ones I had back in Melbourne, and their brunch options are super authentically Aussie.
